You may have noticed I haven’t blogged in awhile. Well this is because I’ve actually been writing–and finishing for a change. The latest book is an unusual one for several reasons: it’s part of a multi-book, multi-author series, and it’s also not written by just me. I met this chick in an alley, and she said, “so, you want to finish this book?” I thought, why not.
Okay, actually, it was Marie. But wouldn’t it be funny if someone asked you to finish a book in an alley? Or maybe it would just be really weird.
The book is called Second Hand, and it will be out in September from Riptide Publishing. The first book is Where Nerves End, written by Lori Witt (nobody approached her in any alleys, so she wrote it alone), and it’s available right now from Amber Allure. We don’t have a blurb yet, but Marie did make a collage, so here you go.
The reddish-head is Paul, a receptionist at a veterinary’s office, and the naked smoker is El, who owns a pawn shop. The little moppet dog is Mojo.
Third in the series will be a novel-length version of my short “Dirty Laundry,” which I wrote for Coffee and Porn in the Morning’s birthday bash, and all I get are comments about how people wish it were a novel. I put Denver in Second Hand as a secondary character for fun, and now I’m 3/4 of the way through his story.
Next, though, I’ll be polishing up and shopping another novel by both Marie and I, this one without an exact name yet. We call it The Chicago Project, but that doesn’t work as an actual name. It is set in Chicago, with a thrice-divorced Italian boy named Vinnie and a sweet, sexy college boy who’s saving himself for Mr. Right. I’ve been calling it Like Someone in Love, but I don’t know if that will stick.
That’s what I’ve been up to and what I’ll be doing. This week I’m with Marie at her house in Colorado, and this weekend we’ll be at RomCon in Denver. If you’re there, come say hi!
